With my 'masquerade' formal fast approaching, i'm starting to freak out because I might have to go nude. After being informed of the event over five months ago, I started looking for the perfect formal dress. As I have a love for vintage clothing, I thought i'd stick with that idea and look for both a mask and dress which is vintage. I came close to finding 'the one' but after trying it on and realising it was a tad too small, I was shattered. Now, I continue my hunt for the perfect vintage formal dress. I refuse to turn up to the formal in a dress from a chain store which is so easily accessible (and risk the chance of wearing the same dress as somebody else there!).
I had a few ideas in mind when considering the dress:
- a short, backless number; possibly velvet or sequins,
- a 1950s puff skirt dress (knee length or full) complete with petticoat and boned bodice (purhaps a beige/nude colour),
- a slinky maxi in a bold colour (such as emerald green or ruby red),
or
- a jewel encrusted collared dress.
I am yet to find any dresses which meet the description of the above and stay in my price range, so i'm considering turning up in my birthday suit.
